Please, be aware that memberships are ALWAYS active, whether you show up or not. You can  ‘freeze' a membership for up to 2 weeks at the cost of $5 a week. Once you receive your membership card, always present it at the door, or you may have to pay a cover charge of $10. Lost cards can be replaced at the cost of $10 each. Salsa For Singles and The Salsa Social Club is a social event company and a dance studio for singles and couples;  It is not a dating service.

Our events run on a first come first serve basis. We do not guarantee equal men to women ratios at all events and lessons.

We do guarantee that you will have fun and meet new people!

Photos will be taken at all Salsa For Singles and The Salsa Social Club events. Some of these photos will be displayed on our website.By attending a Salsa For Singles and The Salsa Social Club event, you agree that your photo may be published on our website. You also agree your photo or a likeness of you may be used for promotional purposes via video, print, or web, without compensation to you.

By participating in any Salsa For Singles and The Salsa Social Club activities, you automatically agree to follow our rules.

These rules are current as of Thursday, May 5, 2005 and are subject to change at any time with or without notice.

BEHAVIOR

Remember that you are representing Salsa For Singles and The Salsa Social Club while participating in any SSC event! Please conduct yourself in such a way as not to detract from the enjoyment of the other Participants (at all times).

All members must abide by these rules and regulations, failure to do so may result in immediate termination of club membership; sorry no refunds

  • Memberships become active starting on the first day of your first lesson. Under no circumstances will refunds be given if you miss a lesson. Make-up lessons can be arranged when absences are due to extraordinary situations (e.g. death in the family or a serious sickness that impedes your attendance) Please provide us in a written manner, with regards to your situation.
  • All memberships, including private lessons,  run consecutively   (except for the bronze package)
  • Private lessons must be booked 3 business days in advance with a FULL payment
  • No outside  food or drinks allowed in venues that sell such items
  • Proper dance shoes must be worn at all times, no running shoes, open toe sandals, no bare feet
  • Dress code in effect- smart casual, no sweat pants, tank tops, ripped jeans, baseball caps
  • Please be aware and respectful of your personal hygiene, you are dancing with a partner!
  • All members must conduct themselves in a socially responsible manner and must not be a nuisance or put other members in an unsafe situation
  • Please be advised that members should only receive dance instructions from our qualified instructors, Betty Colón and Otto Hernandez
  • Members are not allowed or qualified to conduct any lesson whatsoever, especially advance steps, we do encourage members to help out each other within their own level!
  • Profanity of any kind will not be tolerated
  • Members may ‘freeze’ their membership at a cost of $5 a week ** you must give at least 1 week’s written notice, phone calls or emails sent the same day will not be valid** ONLY up to 2 weeks**
  • Betty Colón, Salsa for Singles and The Salsa Social Club, its employees/contractors/helpers are not held responsible for any loss or theft of articles on the premises and are not held liable for injury or health risk sustained during the lessons, practice or any outings organized by Betty Colón, Salsa for Singles and The Salsa Social Club
  • Salsa For Singles and The Salsa Social Club is not responsible for third parties not living up to their commitments.
  • Some events require additional costs

 

Our BLOG-General Rules:

  • While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts.
  • Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) non-sense posts, or the such.
  • Advertising, spamming and trolling is not allowed. .
  • We also do not allow posts or links to sites that are sexual in nature or violate SFS community standards.
  • Discussion of illegal activities such as software and music piracy and other intellectual property violations are not allowed.
  • Each member is allowed one login account. Registering with multiple accounts is not allowed.
  • While we are quite happy to have constructive comparative conversations about lessons, we will not tolerate blatant disregard or lack of respect for instructors.
  • We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice.
  • If you are going to post non-English on these forums, please also post an English Translation of your post.
  • Also while these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way.
  • You cannot post any affiliate or referral links, or post anything asking for a referral. Such posts will be subject to removal.
  • You cannot post advertisements or notices for contests.
  • We also reserve the right to ban anyone who wilfully violates the blog rules, as access to members ONLY pages are a privilege and not a right.
  • We do not allow people to post threads or to send private messages or emails to users here that advertise or solicit any products, services, funds or donations. Explicit advertising and solicitating in signatures is also prohibited.
 

CLUB REPRESENTATIVE'S AUTHORITY

  Members and guests (Participants) must recognize the authority of the group coordinator(s)/organizer(s)/officer(s) (Club Representatives) and follow any additional rules they set up for Salsa For Singles and The Salsa Social Club events/outings/activities - especially if the additional rules involve your safety. Events can be canceled or modified at the discretion of the Club Representative (for lack of interest, inclement weather or having a personal conflict with the Event). The SSC will attempt to replace a Club Representative on an Event should they be unable to attend and inform the Club in a timely manner.

Club Representatives have the authority to:

1.Remove or reject any person from participation if they are not in condition for the Event. This is a safety issue

   and also helps assure the enjoyment of the other Participants.

2.The Club Representative will adjust the pace of the Event to meet everyone's needs.

3. If there is an emergency and/or injury, the Club Representative will terminate the Event or let someone help the injured back to transportation or medics.

 

CANCELLATION POLICY

Salsa For Singles and The Salsa Social Club Cancellation Policy has been designed out of consideration for event attendees and coordinators, to ensure that we avoid the following as often as possible Event "no shows" who prevent members on the waiting list from attending an event

    Event coordinators and attendees being left to waste time waiting for those "no shows" or low attendance

    Unnecessary last-minute drop-outs which result in people from the waiting list not being able to get on to the event

    In case of a lesson cancellation, it is up to YOU to take your minimum 1 lesson a week at our other location.

    Sorry no carry over's.  Some exceptions apply

 

EVENT CRASHING POLICY

  Event Crashing means attending (or attempting to attend) a club event that you or a non-member are not registered for.

Showing up at a club event, meeting spot, or specific dance lesson with the intention or hope of attending without being

on the official sign-up list (or having prior clearance from the event coordinator) is against club policy. Our event sizes

are restricted for a number of reasons, and it is not fair to the event coordinator to show up and ask to attend (putting them, and the group, in an awkward position), nor to any members who may still be on the waiting list who would have liked to attend.

Of course, many of our events take place in public venues, accessible to anyone. If your friends happen to be in the same place as one of our events, this in itself does not constitute crashing, however, integrating into the event group and participating as a member of the group does. If they are simply participating in the same activity at the same place/time as a group, be sure they participate on their own rather than attempting to integrate with the club group.

Membership to Betty Colón's Salsa Social Club, when  paid in full, authorizes you to (see your package description)

starting from the signed date on this contract and expiring ___  months later as stated on the expiry date on your club membership card.

Please note: The membership is now active or it must be activated within TWO MONTHS of signing this contract, if not your membership will be automatically discontinued.

Lessons are not transferrable.

As a member of Betty Colon's Salsa Social Club you will also receive free  Party and Practices at our other locations,  (based on availability). Your fee also includes membership in the Betty Colón's Salsa Social Club where you will be part of all dance and social events organized by Betty Colon's Salsa Social Club.

 

Some events may require additional charges.

 

   

All sales are final and no refunds will be issued.
